If you have sent us a donation, you will be entitled to a one year or longer subscription, depen ding on the donation. All of names on page four have been placed on the subscription list. The list may not be complete. The project kept growing into something involving quite a num ber of letters and lots of in formation. Thus, some of the early record keeping procedures proved faulty as different types of errors unfolded. The very nature of the growth of the pro ject and the fact that it was developed as only a hobby with no paid help opens up the pos sibility that the list may not be complete or in error. We hope our readers will forgive us for the errors and write to tell us of any omission to the list. We do not intend to exclude anyone who has helped the News to date. We will adjust all mis takes. NAFTZGERS ON T. V. Nafzgers who live in the Cleveland, Ohio viewing area may have had the opportunity to see their family name being discussed on the Channel 8 News cast. Kathleen and Clair Naft— zger appeared on the news to explain the scope of our news letter and the work being done by Nafzgers throughout the U.S. Considerable interest was ex pressed by the interviewer in the idea of a national family reunion. It is amazing how Nafzgers thr oughout the United States and Canada have responded to our newsletter. We began publishing the newsletter about two years ago and since that time we have uncovered the whereabouts of 2,000 direct Nafzger descend—— ants living in the U.S. We fig ure that there are probably only about 4,000 or 5,000 living des cendants. We have letters from approximately 800 hundred of them. We have collected infor mation on 30,000 Nafzger descend ants, both living and deceased. Thank you for your support. We are unhappy about the dis continuation of the free mail ing because it will slow down our contact with the direct des cendants of the Nafzgers. We be lieve that given enough time and the free mailings that contact with most of the Nafzger direct line descendants in the United States could have been made. So in a few years, we expect to be back with another plan for free mailing so that progress identifying the direct descend ants can continue. As a result of the newsletter we found that the large four by eight feet wall charts are quite saleable for use on walls in fam ily—recreation rooms and/or at family reunions. We have had a number of requests for the charts but we are not in a position to make them for anyone except our selves as we record the informa tion. Thus, It is our intention to figure Out a way to make the charts for sale and use any pro fit to finance the NAFZGER HER ITAGE NEWS This may be a pro ject which will take up to two years to complete. As usual, Carroll Nafziger of Mininer, Illinois has forwarded considerable material on the Naf— zigers of the Hopedale area that extablishes the exact relation ship of the Nafzigers, Millers, Eglis, Yoder families.Hundreds of new families can be added to the chart of the two brothers, John and Christian who entered the United States as a result of the great Interest in genealogy on the part of the Hopedale Naf— zigers. SCHEDULE OF FUTURE ISSUES We will following in future attempt to feature the Nafzger family lines issues of the News March 1975 issue — Vol III, No.1 PETER NAFFZIGER — who lived at Groversheim by Kirkheim, Bolen, Germany. Peter descendants re present a substantial family line that accounts for many of the Naffzigers presently living in the United States. July 1975 issue — Vol III, No.2 RUDOLPH NAFZGER — who landed in Philadelphia on the ship Phonex in 1749 along with Peter and Matthew—Mathias. Rudolph is the father of John,Catherjne, Esther, Samuel, Andrew, Peter and another son whose name is not known. There is the possibility that there were other £hildren. Sept. 1975 Issue — Vol III, No. 3 A mystery NAFZGER FAMILY line when we uncover a wealth of material through our readers to pass onto other Nafzgers. Dec 1975 issue — Vol III, No. 4 CHRISTIAN NAFZIGER (1777—1849) who was born in Rhine Prussia, Germany and lost his entire for tune during the Napolenic Wars. His widow and children emigrated to the United States and settled in Wayne County, Ohio March 1976 issue — Vol IV, No. 1 PETER NAFFZIGER who was born in Uberau Germany and married to Pheobe Fischer in Hesse Darmstadt, Germany. Peter died in Germany and it was the surviving son of the family of a deceased daughter that emigrated to America. J 1976 issue — Vol IV. No. 2 Another mystery Nafzger family line in which we will be seeking information from our readers so that the family line can be pieced together. Sept. 1976 issue — Vol IV, No. 3 John NAFZIGER who was born in Bushing Lotteriñg, Germany, He emigrated to the United States in the fall of 1837. The route was by the way of New Orleans, up the Mississippi River, then on the Illinois River to Peoria, Illinois. •The ocean was crossed by sailboat, it requiring 43 days to get to New Orleans.
