The Nafzger Heritage News

The Nafzger Heritage News

The Nafzger Heritage news was first published June 10th, 1973. Until about 1988 it was published quarterly (with some missing issues) by Clair, Betty, and Kathleen Nafzger. Later, it was published by Ray Noftsger. The last issue that I know of was Spring 1995.

The various issues of this periodical contain a wealth of information. Over the years many letters from all over the United States were published. Articles feature research by Foster Naftzinger, Ray Noftsger and others. Early issues featured profiles and descendants of Nafzger immigrants to the United States. Others feature inserts with numbered descendants designed to be collected into a book.

Special note should be made of Clair Naftzger. He was really the force behind the periodical. He dedicated many hours of work to the News and compiling the information presented in it for more than 20 years. He was always quick to thank and give credit to others, while his own contribution was by far the greatest. Clair passed away in 1995. Perhaps his family can provide us with a more fitting tribute.

I now have official permission from Betty Naftzger and Kathleen Gulish, Clair's wife and daughter, to publish the past issues of the News on this site.

Some have asked if I have taken on the job of continuing the News. The answer to that question is no. It's all I can do to update this site 3 or 4 times a year. If someone out there feels up to the task of helping with a quarterly publication such as the news, perhaps I can put you in contact with each other and something will happen. Until then, at least we will have access to what has already been published.

Issue list with links to the pdf versions. If you have any of the issues that I don't have, please let me know.
